How old is too old?

In the car this evening Carson said to mommy:

When I turned 1 I was still a baby.
When I turned 2 I was still a baby.
When I turned 3 I was a big boy.
When I turn 4 I will be the biggest boy.
When I turn 5 I will be an old man.

Our little flower and Darth Vader

This Halloween was Cassidy's 1st and it was fun dressing a little girl. ;-)
Cassidy was a beautiful flower and surprisingly kept her petals on her head the whole time.
Carson has become a HUGE Star Wars fan. When we went to pick out his costume - Darth Vader was the obvious choice. He loved the light saber that he got with it. Now, that Halloween is over, Darth Vader has become a daily costume choice. He even wore his Darth Vader mask to Bed, Bath, and Beyond just last night. Ay, ay, ay

This was taken at Carson's Halloween parade the day before Halloween during preschool. It is pretty amazing that I have a son in preschool and I have become the mom trailing after my child in a parade- elbowing my way through the other masses of parents
to get the best picture of him walking!
Where has the time gone?!? Cassidy had to dress for the parade as well! ;-)

My Carson

So, on our way home from grandpa and grandma's house this evening Carson and I were talking about his day at preschool. In the past we have talked about listening and obeying his teachers and shining Jesus' light to his friends. So, tonight Carson was telling me about playing outside and listening to his teachers. He then said, Mommy, I shined Jesus' light today.

Oh, he melts my heart!!

We then began talking about Jesus and he asked me two questions

I had to come and blog immediately:

Does Jesus stand on our roof?

Can we fly a rocket ship to see God? When I grow up, I will be an astronaut and fly to God.
I love this little man!!!

Catchin' UP

Being a wife, a mommy of 2, part-time teacher, and a Mops Coordinator sure do keep me busy! I knew I needed to update my blog and squeeze in some photos before Halloween OR I will be really behind. Cassidy will be 9 months Saturday and she is in to EVERYTHING! We returned to baby safety mode - locking cabinets, keeping bathroom doors closed, and removing anything breakable from arms reach. She is pulling up on anything that will hold her weight and has gotten her first bruise. ;-( I love her new giggles and coos, exaggerated- squinted smiles, the way she leans in to touch foreheads, and how she lights up a room when I return from work. Carson surprises me daily with what silly thing comes out of his mouth and it has become my mission to write as many down as I can. (Hopefully, that will be another post soon) He is a wonderful BIG brother. He loves it when she crawls on him and cuddles her head into his chest. I love how their interactions have become more endearing and intentional and playful.
I am so lucky to have 2 wonderful cuddle-bugs!

Falling into her toy box and consequently NOT happy about it!
Of course, I needed a picture before getting her out.

Carson is wearing Cassidy's pants in this picture!!

Nah, they are not related at all...!?!

Cassidy is growing too!

At 6 1/2 months, Cassidy continues to amaze us! She is a joy and is growing way too fast. I must be feeling pretty sentimental (with Carson old enough to go to preschool and everything) because I long for her to be an infant again, too! In this video clip she is pursuing a Jedi lightsaber. She is very persistent and has mastered the scoot and drag technique. Try not to be sidetracked with the 3 year old jumping across! ;-)

Preschool Days

Wednesday, August 19, marked a significant point in our little man's life - PRESCHOOL! I couldn't take enough pictures and I was pretty choked up for most of the morning. In his classroom, he gave me a big kiss and hug and then said, "okay mommy, go - mommy, go." Looking at these pictures again I realize how big he really is!! After dropping him off I prayed all the way home for Carson's protection, discernment, future friends, and his growing excitement for learning. Oh, to have my Carson in a swaddle blanket again! Swoon!! This day marked the beginning of new things and I anticipate the future, but he will always be my baby!
Carson, I will love you forever!!
